CURRENT PROJECTS
GEBISA - CHITUU

Project Gebisa (management of social vulnerability families) was born from the collaboration between VPA and The University of Ambo, as well as Project Ubuntu.

The funded students by VPA are from the  community of Gebisa, formed by 150 extremely poor families situated 15km from Ambo.

Their own community chose 8 families (the poorest and most in need) that were in need of urgent assistance.

As we are talking about a 150 family community, our help will be switched between those who need it the most at a certain time, hoping to eventually turn the village into a self sustainable and prosper community.

MARCH 2018

When we returned to the village we were greatly surprised to find that their lives had dramatically imrpoved thanks to our help. The 8 families selected in our previous trip had successfuly raised the livestock acquired, and were now ready to sell them to make a profit to reinvest in the village as new animals and crops to plant.

This resounding success only ignites the desire of VPA to keep fighting for those in need. As thank you for the help given, the children of the village played a song for us using just an empty tank. Just their gratitude and the look on  their faces is reward enough to last a lifetime.
